Here we are with all the necessary information about the 2015 Pan American Games which is scheduled to be held in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) from 10th July to 26th July. Apart from Toronto the surrounding towns of Hamilton and Markham too will host many number of events. Total 41 nations are expected to participate in this mega sporting event which covers both the large continents of North and South America. How Toronto Won the Bidding for the Games?
Toronto lost to Atlanta and Beijing to host the 1996 and 2008 Summer Olympics and hence Toronto was an automatic choice by the Canadian Olympics Committee to host the Pan American Games for the year 2015. Apart from Toronto got the rights to host the games by winning the vote taken on 6th November, 2009. Toronto got 33 votes against Lima (Peru) which got 11 votes and Bogota (Columbia) which got only 7 votes. This will be the biggest sporting event Canada will ever host, even larger than the Vancouver Winter Olympics which it held in the year 2010. The 2015 Pan American Games will be the first ever completely ecologically friendly games because it will be fully carbon neutral.

All 41 PASO member nations will be part of the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. This time it will be one fewer member than previous editions as the Netherlands Antilles Olympic Committee was dissolved in the year 2011.

Logo and Slogan for the 2015 Pan American Games
On 29th September 2010 the official logo of the 2015 Pan American Games was unveiled at a street party conducted at the Maple Leaf Square in Toronto. The colors of the logo are green, blue and orange and it is in three different shapes as well. The logo is basically having two alphabets T & O which is the first and the last character of the host city Toronto. The official slogan for the 2015 Pan American Games is ‘United We Play’.
