On Monday October 9, 2017 teams of Group A and Group B of Fifa world cup U-17 played their second match for qualifying to the next round. A total of four matches were played yesterday and the teams that faced each other yesterday were:

Group A Group B
Ghana U-17 vs USA U-17

India U-17 vs Colombia U-17

Turkey U-17 vs  Mali U-17

Paraguay U-17 vs New Zealand U-17


GHANA U-17 vs USA U-17:

On October 9, 2017 Ghana and USA played their match at 17:00 IST at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi where USA came victorious against Ghana with a score line of 1-0. The goal was scored by the substitute Ayo Akinola on the 75th minute which helped USA to secure the spot for knockout stages. This match came out pretty interesting where both sides were dominant till the last minute of the game but a little more effort by the players of USA than the players of Ghana helped USA to win the battle.

TURKEY U-17 vs MALI U-17:

Turkey and Mali played their match at 17:00 IST at Dr. DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai where Mali rebounded strongly against Turkey with a margin of 3-0 to keep their hopes alive for surviving in this World Cup after tasting the narrow defeat in their first match. The goals were score by Djemoussa, N’Diaye and F.Konate at 38th, 68th and 86th minute respectively. This match seemed pretty one sided as Mali were dominating the whole match against Turkey.


India faced Colombia on their second match at 20:00 IST at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. This match was pretty interesting as both teams dominated the whole game but Colombia defeated India by a margin of 2-1 and now Colombia is on a race of qualifying for the next round against Ghana where they both have the same points on the table, where India is struggling to qualify for the knockout stage. The game was pretty intense till the last minute, where the goals were scored on the second half of the game and it were scored by J. Penaloza from Colombia at 49th and 83rd minute and Jeakson from India at 82nd minute.

PARAGUAY U-17 vs NEW Zealand U-17:

Paraguay and New Zealand played their second match of Group B at 20:00 IST at Dr. DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. This match was pretty intense as New Zealand seemed to be a tough opponent for Paraguay as the score line was 1-2 at the half time, but Paraguay came with a quite interesting comeback where they scored 3 goals in the second half and sealed a victory with a score line of 4-2 and secured it’s spot in the knockout stage. The goals were score by A.Rodriguez at 2’, A.Vega at75’, 78’ and B.Armoa at 90+1’ from Paraguay and the two goals for New Zealand were scored by Paraguay’s captain A.Duarte which was a defending mistake at 20’ and 34’.
