Sidelights:

Before this match KXIP’s place in the playoffs was final but not RR’s. RR were doing reasonably well throughout this 7th season of the IPL but suddenly somehow they have lost the plot and now the situation is that their place is in the jeopardy as there are two more contenders along with them for the remaining spot in the playoffs this season. One thing in their favor is that their net run rate is in positive but then they still need to win their last game in the round league. They probably need Hodge and Faulkner to bat a spot above their current one so that they have more deliveries to face than what they have got in this game.
